| Spend
a few days in the bush, as game roams around the camp. An experienced
bush ranger will teach you about wildlife and take you into
the world of living and surviving the bush, the tracking of
animals, anti poaching and maintaining our precious environment.
The
course consists of a combination of theory and practice. Different
subjects are discussed during walks at several locations,
like identifying plants and trees, their medicinal use and
how the plants can help you survive. Birds, snakes and even
insects can make interesting subjects. How do eco systems work
and how are they threatened at the moment? In a Big 5 park
you will learn to interpret tracks and other signs of game
presence and maybe of poachers too. You will get info on
typical animal behaviour and how to act when there's an encounter
with for instance an elephant or buffalo. A visit to Moholoholo
rehab centre is included. They take care of injured and abandoned
animals. If possible, they will set them free in the wild
again. We also visit the cheetah breeding project in Hoedspruit.
The nights will be spend around the camp fire, as talks continue
about the stars, bush noises and probably some 'Crocodile
Dundee' stories. |
